The Inside Out Grilled Cheese

I was introduced to this fine sandwich at The Indiana State Fair about a month ago. I added thin sliced ham and turkey to mine to kick it up a notch.

Ingredients: butter, shredded cheddar, bread, sliced cheese, thin sliced ham (optional)

Instructions:

1. Melt a tbsp of butter on griddle.

2. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over butter.

3. Place bread on butter and cheese.

4. Place sliced cheese on bread.

5. Warm up ham on griddle then place on sliced cheese.

6. Add another tbsp of butter and shredded cheese and place second slice of bread on that.

7. Grill until both sides are brown and crispy.

8. Slice diagonally because your Mom used to do it that way.

9. If you really want to liven it up, put some chips between the two halves and you will think you are at a restaurant.

The shredded cheese adheres to the bread to make a crunchy outside while the cheese in the middle oozes out when you cut it or bite into it. This is what I refer to as “Restaurant Quality.”

This masterpiece was also as healthy as possible. Brownberry 22 seed bread and none of the cheese was processed. Maybe not so much on the lunch meat, but Man, it was good!
