Trolley Car Creamery: Brownstown

In conjunction with Blondie’s 🍕 Pizza and right next door, Trolley Car Creamery has some great ice cream! My “Go To” is the Ultimate Peanutbutter Brownie in a chocolate dipped waffle cone with sprinkles! If you are lucky, Chelsey will scoop your ice cream or make your milkshake as I 👀 look forward to seeing her when I go there.

😎 Cool shop sign on highway 50.

Here you go!

There are some cute places to sit on the sidewalk to enjoy your ice cream! As well, you can always get an awesome pizza at Blondie’s!

The Donald Ross Course

Christopher Schuck, Jon Tilmon and Bruce Stahl made their way to French Lick for some outstanding golf ⛳️ on a premier course. We had a twilight tee time for $85 per player. Totally worth it! We played our own ball the first 9 and Bruce was the low medalist 🏅 with a 49. We played a two-man scramble in the back 9 with Bruce and myself partnered versus Jon and Christopher. In match play, the boys from Jackson County(Walt and Bruce) won up 7. 💥 Boom!

Walt, Jon, Bruce (game face on)and Chris on number one tee. Bruce indeed came to play this day!
We had lunch in the club house before and this masterpiece is the Fat 🦬 Buffalo and corn chowder. A first class meal.
Chris had the fish and chips.
Afterward, Bruce and Walt had a complimentary Shock 🔝 with an 🍊 orange slice and sat in rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the course.

Patoka Lake

After binge watching The Night Agent until 1:30 a.m., Heidi and I ventured out today and used my state park pass that I got for Christmas 🎄. We hiked trails 4 and 5 at Patoka Lake State Park before a 🍷 wine tasting at the Patoka Lake Winery.

At the Nature Center, this display of the wing span and the eagle, 🦉 owl, hawk and kestrel was interesting.
Unique old trail number 5 was only a quarter of a mile long featuring a narrow pass through the rocks.
After a wine tasting we each purchased a Slushy Bag to go. Mine was Peanutbutter and Jelly and since it was Mega Monday, I got the 30 ounce bag.

Benny’s Restaurant is next door and you can take your wine with you there if you want. Heidi and I shared a pretzel and beer cheese appetizer and split a bacon, pepper Jack cheeseburger on Texas Toast along with thin onion rings that were superb!

🥨 Buckeyes and 🍺 beer 🧀 cheese!!!
🥓 🍔 🧅…These thin onion rings were a highlight!

We also added a new state park app to our phones and when you get to the visitors center or nature center you enter a PIN number and it shows that you visited that park. Heidi and I are suckers for any type of passport and look forward to visiting and checking in at sever state parks with the app.

LEGENDZ Sports Bar and Grill

Ain’t gonna lie, it was a bit of a struggle to climb out of this giant Adirondack.

Legendz is located in downtown French Lick. A sports bar atmosphere with St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Indiana Hoosier and Larry Bird paraphernalia. My favorite is the front entrance:

The front door with Magic and Larry Legend. I was walking out as I took this one.
Heidi is holding a Sam Adams Summer Ale in front of the St. Louis Cardinals wall for my Cardinal fan friend, Jon Tilmon. That backwards Budweiser baseball ⚾️ is actuary’s reflection from the opposite wall.
I had the sweet 🌶 chili ribs and house potato chips.
Heidi had the Philly cheese steak with sweet potato 🍠 fries that were dipped in apple 🍎 butter.

Great atmosphere for a sports bar and our food was very good!

O’Hana: French Lick

In 🌺 Hawaiian. O’Hana means “family.” Heidi spied the O’Hana Grill and Bar as we drove by and thought we should give it a shot.

Who knew that Yuengling had a Hershey’s Chocolate 🍫 beer. I ordered a pint and was happy with the result. The aroma was thick with chocolate flavor.
Heidi had the Bahama Mama!
The Hawaiian shrimp came with 🍚 rice, steamed 🥕 🥦 veggies and a hunk of grilled pineapple 🍍. Tasty!
Cool mural in downtown French Lick!

I have some golfing buddies coming later and will for sure put this on the list. At least for a taste of Yuengling Hershey’s!!! Go, Pennsylvania!!! BTW, we also had some fresh made California Roll 🍣 sushi and we both used the chopsticks. We are so talented!

It Might…It Could Be… It Is!!!

It Might Be.. It Could Be…it Is, A HOMERUN!!!

Harry Caray, WGN in the 1980s.

The Blackstone had a guest gourmet chef tonight! Bruce Stahl nailed it!

We had some prime rib ground beef slider Pattie’s atop diced 🧅 onions on the Blackstone, 🥓 bacon, add American cheese, and THEN, we toasted an entire package of King’s Hawaiian Rolls.

👀 Look at these Bad Boys! Bruce requested to slather the rolls with Mayo and also toasted them on the Blackstone. Killer!!!
Toasted King’s Hawaiian 🌺 Roll, 🥓 bacon, 🧀 cheese on ground prime rib 🥩…Slap the dog and spit in the 🔥 fire!!!

The taste of these were fantastic. Crunchy toasted bread, sautéed 🧅 onions , bacon and American cheese. All of these tastes came through for a wonderful dining experience.

Lottery Pick

You know that if you win a free ticket, you have won the lottery. As well, with NBA picks recently, it is a big deal. Today when I was mowing and saw Richard cleaning the grill, I knew I had a shot at the Grassy Fork lottery.

For dinner it was flat iron 🥩 steaks, baked potato 🥔 with 🥓 bacon, butter 🧈 and sour cream and peas from the can. I am telling you, peas are one of my favorite sides!

Baked potato 🥔, Flat Iron Steak, and peas. 💥 Boom!

When it comes to dessert, Nina said something about butter 🧈, pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon…that is really all I had to hear. She called it Pecan Cobbler. This brown sugary goodness was exceptional!!

Pecan Cobbler. 😮 Whoa!!!

Yes, I won the lottery!!!

Hog Molly and The Garage

Let’s start with last nights 🌅 sunset in Grassy Fork. It was beautiful!
This is the Hog Molly Red Headed 📣 Cheerleader Strawberry 🍓 Hefeweizen on the left and the Blindside Blackberry 👱 Blonde Ale on the right! Both are worthy!

After hearing positive reviews from Baron and Rachel Bullard, we tried the Hog Molly tonight. It is located on the Northside of Columbus and has a 🏈 football theme.

And, they offer $1 stickers that are also 😎 cool.
I had the Cordon Bleu and sweet potato 🍠 fries 🍟 which were incredible!!! I had caramel and cinnamon mustard sauces which were both outstanding!!! I couldn’t finish it.

The girls (Heidi and Mendy) wanted to go to The Garage. We had gone in the 🥶 winter, and wanted to sit outside tonight. It was a great vibe with Taku across the street and Columbus bar next door.

The Cordon Bleu was a fried 🐔 chicken breast, ham, 🧀 Swiss and was on a toasted 🥨 pretzel bun. it was a fantastic combo.

Bruce had the brisket sandwich 🥪 and regular fries.

We highly recommend this combo. Also, Hog Molly will have a food truck there if you want to just go there.

Francis and Mount: Crawfordsville

As a kid we would travel to Crawfordsville every summer to Milligan Park for an Indiana State reunion of my Mom’s sorority. These people are and we’re lifelong friends of the family. In a few occasions, we would play golf At the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course. ⛳️

As my son Lawyer is a 👮‍♀️ police officer in Crawfordsville, we had the chance to play the municipal course for the first time since the 1970s or maybe early 1980s. (Still not quitting my day job.)

Afterward, we had lunch at Francis and Mount in downtown.

I started with a “Freedom of Speach” 🍑 from Revolution Brewery in Chicago. Quite refreshing!
The 🥓 bacon was literally falling of if this 1/2 pound 🍔 burger and the fries were exceptional! When I asked what was on them the bartender said “Salt and pepper.

Crawfordsville has significant history. I haven’t even gotten to Lee Wallace. That will be a future blog.
